🍿 Would you go back to school for this?
She’s 27, burned out, and wondering if six figures of debt is the only way out of her stalled career in entertainment.

🥒 Today’s pickle
I’m 27 and I’ve been working in the film industry for a few years now, never more than an intern or assistant, and it’s soul crushing. I took a chance at following my dreams and worked at places like HBO, A24, and some indie production and ad companies, but I don’t see a path forward. After graduating during covid, my dream job offer was rescinded and I’ve just been hopping around ever since.
What I really want now is to live somewhere I enjoy and have financial stability. That’s more important to me than chasing a dream that feels stalled. I don’t see myself becoming a Creative Exec anytime soon or landing at a company with growth and a solid salary.
I’ve been thinking about getting an MBA to pivot, maybe stay adjacent to entertainment or go into consulting or product management. But I’m worried about the cost, going back to school, and whether it’ll even lead to a better job when the market is this bad. Has anyone successfully left a creative field? Is an MBA actually worth it?
