Chasing animals is cool. Being broke isnāt. We show them how to NOT end up in debt.

A lot of the things that interest me involve the natural world like biology, ecology, marine biology, animal behaviour, conservation, and zoology. From what Iāve read, these jobs donāt really lead to much, and biology seems to need a masterās or PhD. Animal behaviour would be the most interesting degree for me, but itās probably the worst option. Vet nursing seems more secure, or maybe forestry as a substitute for ecology or conservation.
I canāt dedicate myself to study something I donāt care about. Fields like computer science, engineering, and business just donāt do it for me. I know they lead to good careers, but I wonāt enjoy them and they wonāt bring happiness. I donāt need much money to get by, and part of me wants to just do animal behaviour and accept a minimum wage job if it means I enjoy it more.
But then I wonder if thatās a stupid move financially. Whatās the balance of passion and money? Should I be ready to work minimum wage after four years of study and debt? Are any of these options actually worth it?
