🥒 Today’s pickle

I just graduated and majored in a life science. I was never super interested in the field. I liked the one class I took in it in high school and decided to major in it because I didn’t have any interests, and literally thought, “I have no experience in business, engineering, cs, so why would I major in that.” Such stupid thinking.

Fast forward, and now I’m trying to find jobs but realized that entry level science jobs require experience and are less likely to hire someone without it because they don’t want to spend that much time training all the techniques and concepts. I have a high GPA, but don’t actually understand concepts and could not explain a topic to you.

I wish I majored in something similar to business because it seems like it’s a bit easier and more forgiving to break into entry level jobs without much experience. Almost every company needs a business sort of person but not everyone needs a lab person. I don’t want to spend all my time in lab and making hourly pay. Lab work is so isolating. I’m willing to break into other fields and take lower paying jobs if I know it’ll help me progress. I’m just scared about spending all this time to work towards a goal that may not even be right for me or worth it.
